Consultative
Council:
The School Consultative Council may be made
up of
a group of persons, pastor(s), administrator and laity, who, as
representatives
of their parish community, are formally charged with the
responsibility
to generate and direct activities associated with the school.
These activities
include, but are not limited to: religious atmosphere of the
school, planning/policy
formation, finance, curriculum, and public relations. This council
shall
be advisory to the principal of the school.
Bingo

pastor(s), administration
and laity that are formally charged with the responsibility of
overseeing
all aspects of SSMJ Monday night Bingo. These responsibilities
include,
but are not limited to: policies/procedures, format,
advertisement, scheduling
of workers, approval of supplies, formation of House rules,
finances and
formal complaints.
Development/Endowment Committee:
The Development/Endowment Committee may be made up of a group or
persons,
pastor(s), administrator and laity, who are formally charged with
the
responsibility of identifying, coordinating, developing and
expanding
all aspects of the school community to enable it to fulfill its
mission.
The areas of concentration may include, but are not limited to:
public
relations, recruitment, annual funding, major gift programs,
endowment
campaign, strategic 3-5 year planning, alumni associations and
special
projects.
Parental
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility for the
education
of children belongs to the parents; however, this responsibility
is shared
with the school as a matter of practical necessity. The greatest
single
factor in building a child's intellectual, cultural and moral
attitude
is the EXAMPLE you provide in your home.
After June 30, 1994, volunteers must comply with the Diocesan
guidelines
which require all regular volunteers, staff, etc., that work with
children
read the Child Abuse Policy Booklet, sign an official applicant's
certification
and questionnaire and submit to FBI screening. The Child Abuse
Policy
Books are available in the school office. Parents are a very
important
part of SS. Mary and Joseph School.
