Race
for Education
May
21 was a special day for the students in grades Kindergarten through eight at
Saints Mary and Joseph School. It
was the day that our annual Race for Education was held. I know that students, staff, and parents
participating had a wonderful time.
I also know that because of your efforts and the generosity of supporters
whose names you submitted, we have received $6,482.00 to date with money still
arriving in the mail.
Thank
you so much to all who gave, whether it was names for mailers, money, time
and/or energy. In particular, I
want to say a special “Thank You” to Rita Staraitis, Janelle DeSanto, and
Shelley Barb who have been very instrumental in making sure the paperwork and
bookkeeping involved in the program have gone very smoothly. “Thank You”, too, to the PAC officers
who were kind enough to “water” our children on that day!!
Catholic
School Scholarship Fund
If
you applied for assistance from this fund in January, please know that the
letters from the Review Committee will not be sent out to the families until
after June 30. Please do not assume
since you have not heard from them yet that you did not qualify for
assistance. You will receive a
letter one way or the other in early July.
FACTS Tuition
Assistance Program
Just
a reminder that applications for this assistance must be completed as directed
and all financial information requested must be provided for the application to
be processed. In addition, in order
for your application to be accepted/processed for the
school year 2010-2011, it must be postmarked no later than Friday, June 4,
2010.
For
those who wish to do so, applications can be done on-line at http://www.factstuitionaid.com/. New users should select “create an
account” to begin the process.
2010-2011
School Year
The
calendar for the new school year will be given to the children along with their
Report Cards on Friday, June 4. In
case you’re planning summer vacations now, please remember we will begin the
new year on Monday, August 23,
2010.
Registrations
for the new school year will continue to be accepted as they come in. If you know anyone who has a child just
beginning school, or looking for a new school, please be sure to send them our
way. As you know, Saints Mary and
Joseph School provides, and will continue to provide, the best for our
children!
Congratulations!
The
members of our eighth grade class - Alissa Abraham, Christian Addison, Alicia
Agati, Sarah Ballentine, Paige Hanson, Rachael Harnichar, Alexis Novotny, Catlin
Razzano, Jacob Seink, and Nicholas Suzelis - will participate in their
Graduation Ceremony on Friday, June 4 beginning at 7:00 at Saints Mary and
Joseph Church. We encourage each of
you to pray for these students as they move on to high school. We wish them all the very
best.
Market
Day
Thank
you so much to Dawn Dugic, who has “carried the ball” throughout the year with
our Market Program and sales. Because of the support received this
year, our profits next year will increase
to
40%. That’s quite a nice piece of
change. We truly hope that you will
continue to order items and get your friends, co-workers and family to do so as
well.
Please
know, though, Market Day will be “on vacation” throughout the summer. Our sales will begin again in
September.
